Description
This one pound squeeze bottle of dark fall honey is raw and unfiltered. The shade of this honey will vary from year to year, depending on which blooms are most prevalent. Blossoms that make up this honey are mainly goldenrod and Japanese knot-weed (red bamboo), along with some other minor late season blooms.
Our fall honey has a pleasant sweet buttery flavor with a bit of a bite to it. While not the typical “honey taste” this honey is our personal favorite. The dark color comes from the Japanese knot-weed.
Note that since our honey is raw, it will crystallize over time. In order to de-crystallize it you will need to heat it slightly in a warm pan of water or even on the windowsill on a summer day. Do not heat the honey above 140 degrees Fahrenheit to avoid damaging the bottle and pasteurizing the honey.
DO NOT feed honey to children under the age of one year.
